Personalised care starts with the right people. Meet the team behind Healpath’s integrated approach to Pain Care and Recovery.
Dr Angel Gonzalez-Anzola
Clinical Director | Lead Practitioner – Pain Care
Former Medical Doctor (MD) & Anaesthetist
Dr Angel is the founder and Clinical Director of Healpath, where he leads the clinic’s philosophy of personalised, evidence-informed Pain Care. With decades of experience dedicated to alleviating pain and restoring movement, he has devoted his career to helping people improve their quality of life through compassionate, individualised care.
His professional journey began in Latin America as a Medical Doctor (MD) and Anaesthetist before becoming a scientific advisor within the pharmaceutical industry. Through these experiences, he gained valuable insight into the role of medication in pain management, while also observing its limitations and recognising the importance of addressing the underlying causes of pain rather than simply managing symptoms.
More than 25 years later and in a new chapter of his career, Dr Angel chose to dedicate himself to a more hands-on and personalised approach to helping people in pain. Combining his medical background with extensive clinical experience and continual professional development, he creates highly individualised treatment plans tailored to each person’s needs. His thoughtful, caring approach and unwavering commitment to treating the whole person continue to shape Healpath’s philosophy of personalised Pain Care and inspire the collaborative approach shared by the entire team.
Dr Cristina Lesseur
Head of Recovery | Sleep & Breathwork Coach
Cristina co-founded Healpath alongside her husband, Dr Angel Gonzalez-Anzola, with a shared vision of helping people not only find relief from pain, but also recover well and live healthier, more fulfilling lives. As Head of Recovery, she helps people improve sleep, regulate their nervous system and develop healthier breathing patterns to support long-term health, resilience and wellbeing.
With a PhD in Biology and a career spanning scientific research, corporate leadership and entrepreneurship, Cristina understands firsthand the impact that chronic stress, poor sleep and constant pressure can have on health. Her own journey inspired her to explore the science of recovery, discovering that better sleep, healthier breathing and nervous system regulation can profoundly influence how we feel, heal and perform.
Today, Cristina combines science with practical, personalised coaching. Her qualifications include Functional Breathwork through Oxygen Advantage, Sleep & Recovery Coaching, Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (BBTI) under Professor Michael Gradisar at Flinders University, and she is currently completing advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). Beyond supporting clients one-on-one at Healpath, she also delivers workshops for schools, workplaces and community organisations, helping students, professionals and teams develop practical skills to manage stress, improve sleep, enhance focus and build resilience for life.

Before joining Healpath, Diana explored different career paths before discovering that her greatest fulfilment came from helping others through hands-on care. Inspired by her family’s commitment to improving people’s lives, she chose to build her own career in allied health, embracing the same values of personalised, evidence-informed care that define Healpath.
Patients consistently praise Diana’s caring nature, attention to detail and ability to make them feel comfortable and supported throughout their recovery. Passionate about continual professional development, she is continuing to expand her clinical skills as she progresses towards becoming a Myotherapist under the guidance and mentorship of Dr Angel, following in his footsteps while building her own expertise in Pain & Recovery.
our philosophy of care
Helping you move beyond pain, recover well and live healthier
At Healpath, we believe great care goes beyond treating symptoms. Our goal is to understand you, identify the underlying contributors to your pain or recovery challenges, and work alongside you to achieve meaningful, lasting results.
We measure our success not by how often you return, but by helping you regain the confidence to live life on your terms.
We care deeply
We assess, we listen and we take the time to understand your unique story and the challenges you’re facing. Every treatment plan is tailored to the person—not just the condition—because we believe the best care begins with compassion, trust and genuine partnership.
We find the cause, not just the symptoms
We don’t believe in temporary fixes or keeping people dependent on ongoing treatment. We assess thoroughly, educate honestly and look beyond the symptoms to identify the underlying contributors to pain, poor recovery or reduced function. Our goal is to help you achieve lasting improvements—not endless appointments.
We partner for results
Healing is a two-way street. We help you understand your body, your pain, your nervous system and the habits that influence your health so you can become an active participant in your recovery. Through education, guidance and practical strategies, we empower you to build lasting habits that support your wellbeing long after treatment has finished.
Our favourite patients are our graduates—the people who no longer need us because they’ve achieved their goals and returned to doing what they love. While many choose to stay with us to maintain their health and prevent future problems, our greatest success is seeing people move forward with confidence, independence and the knowledge to take care of their own health.
Our mission
Our mission is simple: understand you, find the cause, guide your recovery, and celebrate the day you no longer need us.
